My birthdate is the same as Simon Cowell's. What's your bloody excuse, eh?

Last weekend has GOT to be the worst break I’ve had this year. Went back to JB with my sis and her 2 kids. We left KL around 11 a.m. and reached JB just past 3 p.m. Missed about 10 minutes worth of Survivor (Singapore TV shows it at 3 pm and 10 pm on Fridays). Hunter was booted. I’m not surprised. I’m just trying to figure out why people think highly of Hunter. He definitely doesn’t deserve to be in the merge. Plus his parting speech? People call it “the most hilarious speech ever”.. but man, he just sounds like a big S.O.R.E L.O.S.E.R. Get a grip man, you lost. You don’t owe the 60,000 applicants who didn’t make it on the show, anything. Bye bye Hunter. Good riddance. Now, he is a case where once you’re voted off, I start disliking them more and more. Who else is on the list? Well, Ethan is high up. Carl is a close second.
Somehow Monday came too soon. We set off again at around 12:30 p.m. hoping somehow to arrive early and avoid the traffic jam in KL. At 3:30 p.m, about 20 kilometres from home, the damn car broke down. The temperature sky rocketed. As I suspected the water in the radiator was gone. Blast. This is the second time it happened. (although none of the occassion was directly due to my fault).
The car was still stranded in the highway, so getting a repairman was almost impossible. At around 6:00 p.m we finally got someone to work on the car. My bro in law came and fetched my sis and her 2 kids back home. I stayed on until 1 a.m. God! Anyway, the guy managed to fix the car. Apparently the engine’s motor stopped working. Yeah, whatever. I’m selling this car and getting a new one pronto. Oh before I forget, it was raining cats and dogs last night, so we were practically soaking wet, working in the rain. Thank you.
Well, I’m off to bed now. It’s only 10 p.m but I feel like turd.
Dear Journal,
“Gotta give credit where credit is due”. That’s what it said. I finally made the headlines (well, not really) at surviiivor.com. It so happens that a theory I had posted a couple of weeks ago suddenly resurfaced on the board. It was brought up by someone else, but one of the mods commented that it was yours truly who made the original post. My god, I am THAT pathetic…
Haven’t been up to much last week, despite the Grand Mega Sale shit going around. I have less than 500 bucks spending money for the rest of this month. Plus, I’m going back to my hometown this weekend.. how the hell am I going to stock up on my DVDs back in JB?
Work has been hectic, as usual. We lost the portal account to some other company. I should be sad/angry really, but to tell you the truth, I am a whole lot relieved. I think it’s a blessing in disguise. Everything that’s to do with the project is so fucked up. And we’ve only been working on the prototype. I guess, we will have to look for other stuff to work on. Other than that, I have tonnes of meetings to attend this week. God help me. I swear I’m gonna get a copy of Lin’s resignation letter soon.
Mama and Kelly have gone off to Genting for the ‘conference’. What a crock of bull. I went to such an event in Langkawi. The only thing that was worth it was the black pepper crabs I had with Mama. Ooooh, I would fly back to Langkawi just for the crabs. Anyway, I won’t be seeing them for the next 3 days, although we have planned to go for the sports session Thursday evening.
Oooh back to Marquesas.. ntv7 had done us justice by giving us a double-bill last week. So I guess Maraamu is officially this season’s Samburu. I am never gonna buy Maraamu’s stock again. EVER. They are THAT bad. On the other hand, I’m beginning to love everyone on Rotu (including the annoying Kathy). I’m liking Zoe more and more by the day. So I was totally wrong in last week’s prediction.. but here’s my prediction for the third episode anyway :
Reward Challenge : Rotu
Immunity Challenge : Maraamburu
Boot : Kathy (the obvious one - too much face time) or Robert (injury)
If Maraamburu manages to do a third immunity stumblefuck in a row, Gina is history.
Well, so much for the anticipation. Ntv7 has failed us (yet again) in showing the Survivor premier. They failed to show the preview for the Outback as well. At least this time they showed us the “Meet the Survivors” preview, so next week we’re gonna get back-to-back episodes one and two. Even though we didn’t get to see Episode One yet, it has been known to the rest of the world that Peter goot the boot. That’s definitely a Survivor first - a male getting the first boot. Not much interesting stuff happened, so I’m not that pissed that we didn’t get to see the first episode. I’m just wondering how much of Sarah we’re gonna get to see on national tv (We didn’t even get to see MuthaPrune in her thongs last episode - Thank God!)
Didn’t do anything exciting last weekend. Ooh.. we had the usual Malaysia Mega Sale again last weekend. Initially I wanted to go off to Midvalley on Saturday but I had to send the car to the workshop. It’s the bloody exhaust. Apparently some part of the exhaust came off when I accidentally reversed into a curb early last week. So I had that welded and now it’s fine. Anyway, only managed to get it all fixed after lunch time. By the time I was on the Federal Highway, the traffic jam was unimaginable. So I had to force myself to make a U-turn and headback home. If the traffic was that bad, I cannot imagine what the crowd would be at Midvalley.
So I went to Midvalley the next day (woke up before 10 am on a Sunday morning - that’s a first this year). Managed to get a parking space and proceeded to MPH. They have a 15% storewide discount : I was in bookworm heaven. Or at least, that’s what I thought. Apparently the collection that they had was not anywhere near what Amazon, Border or Barnes & Nobles has. This coming from an ex-MPH employee, for shame! Well I did buy myself 6 books anyway (one of which was entitled : 2001 Chicken Recipees - that claims I can cook chicken for the next 5 years using a different recipee each day). What? I’m a bookworm, can I blame myself?
Yesterday was Mum’s birthday. I called at 8:00 pm at night. She said it’s not her birthday yet. Apparently she was born at 11:00 pm. So she still wants to hang on to 65 for as long as she can
. I feel bad for not buying her anything. Well when I go back to JB next month, I’ll get her something.
