My birthdate is the same as Simon Cowell's. What's your bloody excuse, eh?

Wow… I think I have psychic powers. Just after I promoted Ryan and Jen’s Lost podcast of The Transmission, they just announced a few days ago that they are retiring the show. Fuck. I think I may have given it the Kiss of Death (can someone direct me to Prof Mohaideen’s directing career, please?). It was such a sad, sad day when I heard about the news. The Transmission is a great compliment to the Lost tv show. What makes Lost such a GREAT AND MAGNIFICENT television show, it’s not just the tv episodes. It has lotys of hidden clues and meanings, easter eggs, red herrings and stuff. And it actually invites the viewers to discuss about the show (possible theories and such).
However, the only true way to achieve this is by seeing the show at about the same time as it is shown in the US, because if you’re browsing the net for LOST discussions and you are a few episodes behind, you will certainly get lost (pun intended), and the show will be spoiled for you. Therefore, less enjoyment. Which is the reason why I’m kicking myself in the ass for not listing TORRENT as my 2005 review. It should’ve been at number one. The greatest thing I’ve personally discovered in 2005 is, hands down, TORRENT. It gives us a chance to at least be on par with our international counterparts to get involved in active discussions about tv shows such as Lost and Survivor.
But, back to my original point, The Transmission has ended, and I was wondernig.. What Would Whatevia Do? In case you’re wondering who Whatevia Santiago is, here are two useful links for you from Answers.com and her original birthplace at Sucks.
Well, in my case, I’m trying to scour the internet for its replacement. I’m trying out Jay and Jack’s Lost podcast since the two have had a shoutout from the folks at The Transmission. ABC’s official Lost podcast, on the other hand, is absolute shite.
On the topic of podcasts, I am also trying out a few Survivor podcasts, namely Jo Ann and Stacy’s Show and Armchair Survivor. I don’t know if they’re any good, but I can’t wait to have a listen to Armchair Survivor because that’s basically what I am. If I ever got on Survivor, I would be a great schemer (Bitch please, I ain’t gonna play this ugly game with integrity and honour. I will leave with ethics and morale at home with my cats.. wait a sec, I don’t think I have any of those four qualities in the first place) but I don’t think I would be exceptional in the challenges.. but who says you have to be? Several of the winners have terrible challenge records (ie. Sandra and Chris, but in my opinion, they played brilliant games).
On the topic of Survivor, before I start bitching about the new season (yes, folks, Survivor 12 - or Survivor : Exile Island has started showing in the US last week), lemme just rant on the finale of Survivor Guatemala. Can I just say that it was one of the worst finales ever? I mean, I hated Steph. I absolutely abhorred her. But she DID play the game. People might argue that she pissed the jury so much that she deserved the loss, but I beg to differ. She didn’t backstab or lied to the jury any more than the jury themselves. AT LEAST SHE FUCKING PLAYED THE GAME.
I don’t dislike Danii (almost forgot her name there), but she just got lucky and played her cards right at the exact right time. Is she a good player? Sure. All winners are deserving of their title, but she ranks right down there with the likes of Amber and Vecepia as the worst winners, in my opinion. And can I just say, Grayfe is a fucking prick? I never hated a self righteous asshole in this game more than him. He said to Danii “I release you from your promise”, and then when Danii voted him out, he flatly said (paraphrasing) “Dannii, you should’ve voted Steph out instead of me” in his last words shows the kind of person he really is. Mind-numbing idiotic fake bastard. Urgh. So the votes went 6 for Danii and 1 for Steph. I am a bit pissed at the jury because basically, in reality they were all AGAINST votes. 6 votes AGAINST Steph and 1 piss poor vote AGAINST Danii. None of them voted for gameplay. So in conclusion, Guatemala sucks donkey balls. What Would Whatevia do if she was one of the jury member? I’m guessing her vote would go to Jeff Probst.
Okay, that was too much bitching than I anticipated, so I’ll keep this one short. Survivor :Exile Island has started. I’m super glad they’ve gone back to 16 players. When was the last time we had this… Pearl Islands? (Oh, by the way, the Pearl Islands DVD is coming out this week. Yay! But I’ll wait till Feb 21st to order since that’s when the RENT movie DVD is coming out) We had 18 in All Stars, then 18 again in Vanuatu… was it 18 or 20 in Palau? Then 18 in fucking Guatemala. So I’m really glad they’ve gone back down to 16 people. And the premier episode was quite good. We could actually have a feel of almost 16 of the contestants (except for 2 or 3 characters which weren’t featured in the premier episode). But the best thing about the new season, despite it being filmed in Panama for the THIRD time, is there’s already 4 buffs with a possibility of another one for the merge (we never know if it will happen, like in Palau). More buffs to add to my collections. W00t! I already added the 3 Palau buffs to my collection, and still working on getting the ones from Guatemala.
Another interesting thing about Exile Island is, for each failed reward challenge, the losing team will send a team member (or you can call it banish) to spend his/her time alone on the Exile Island until the immunity challenge starts. However, an upside to being banished to the Exile Island is, there is an immunity idol hidden on the island and whoever finds it, can use it at Tribal Council AFTER votes have been casted. So if you have the most votes and you produce the Immunity Idol, the person with second most votes gets voted out. INteresting, no? Now, who’s to say you can’t lie about finding the idol to your team members? Would they take a risk and try vote you out anyway? Personally, I think this is quite a big change to the game, but I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
I would urge you folks to download these episodes off the net, cause I’m sending Whatevia over to ntv7. I wonder what she will say.
ps. and I have had with tv3 too, so I had download all episodes of The Apprentice as well. TG4TTM indeed. (Thank God for Torrent)
pps. I have decided to name my firstborn child or my newest cat (whichever comes first), TORRENT. or Whatevia.
