4 hours of TV to write about, so I’m gonna try and keep this short. Oh make that 3.5 hours worth cause I’m not gonna write about Come Dine With Me - except that Sarah WAS indeed a sly minx.. and I would totally be signing up if we have a local version of this show.

American Idol - Top 10 girls
Katharine - All Is Fair In Love by Stevie Wonder
I like Katharine a lot! She’s beautiful and kinda has that ’selamba’ attitude on stage. Unpretentious, I love it. And the girl can sing too, although her performance tonight wasn’t as good as last week. A 7. I predict if we’re getting a female winner this season, Katharine would be it.
Kinnik - I’m Here For The Party by Gretchen Wilson
She was really good tonight. I’m loving her country-western style. That was an unexpected surprise. An 8.
Lisa - Who’s Loving You by Terence Trent D’Arby and En Vogue
Her performance tonight was just okay. I love her but I fear she will suffer Nadia’s fate and leave the competition before the Final 6. Hope I’m wrong. A 7.
Melissa - Why Haven’t I Heard From You by Reba McEntire
I like that we’re hearing her huskiness this week, but man, I don’t know what it is, but to me she is ttally forgettable. Kind of like a filler. A 5.
Heather - Hero by Mariah Carey.
Why do they keep putting these two forgettable girls back to back? Again? Brave attempt, she started out okay but her high notes definitely did not wow me. A 5.5.
Brenna - Last Dance by Donna Summer
I was laughing my ass off when she did her se pout poses, because it reminds me so much of my drag friend who loves doing that. I know many hate her, but I like her. She’s entertaining and is to VoteForTheWorst material. I loved her discoball earrings but her singing was beyond awful. I still would like to see her in the competition though. Every season needs a fluke finalist, and I’d rather it be her than any other bad singers left. A 2.
Paris - Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler
Rudy Huxtable much? Now that the pimping is gone, I might actually start to like her a little more. But again, there was just something weird about her performance tonight. A 6.
Ayla - I Want You To Need Me by Celine Dion
Oh dear.. here we go again. Another Cinderella story. Give me a break. But I thought her singing was really good, even though she was pretty much expressionless throughout. A 7.5
Kellie - Something To Talk About by Bonnie Raitt
She cannot do her low registers and I definitely did not enjoy that at all. So fuck you judges for all the undeserving, non-stop pimping. A 4.
Mandisa - Cry by Faith Hill
She started out pretty good but she was just shouting near the end of the song. A 6.5
Overall, the show pretty much sucked and if I had known, I wouldn’t have bothered coming home so early today.

Amazing Race - Season Nine Premier
I almost didn’t realize that the latest season of Amazing Race was showing until quite late today. I can’t remember if I did any post mortems for the Family Edition but the team that I was supporting, the crazy Linzs, actually won. So congrats to them, despite being the most boring TAR season in history. So new season, new faces. Unfortunately 22 new faces that I just can’t put a name to. So I’m just going to refer them using some nicknames, and hopefully by Episode 3, I’ll be able to really distinguish every one of them.
The Hippies - My initial thought on these two jokers were that they were going to be one of those uber annoying team who puts on their crazy, new agey act. Surprisingly they didn’t really turn out that way. I quite like this team. And oddly enough, one of them looks suspiciously like Parker Stevenson.
The Glamazons - Ohmigod. They are just fucking hilarious. “Did you fart?” .. “SONOFABITCH! I just peed in my pants. Thank you Jesus!!!”.. and they made Phil cringe at the pitstop. LOL I love these two gutsy gals.
The Blacks - Don’t have much of an opinion pn them yet, but you can tell how majorly pissed the guy was when the Brazilian guys were checking out his girlfriend.
The flaming gays - I’m just glad they got eliminated. The fat one annoys me to no end. STFU already, bitch.
The Senior Citizens - I almost screamed at the tv when they didn’t see the Amazing Race placeholder. And then I felt sorry for them at the motorbike pitstop. I have never witnessed a more helpless TAR Team than them.
The Gilmore Girls - I am absolutely LOVING the mother and daughter team. The mom needs to chill out a bit more but the daughter is so level-headed. I hope this team will go all the way. They impressed the hell out of me.
The Nerds - I like these to a lot. They kinda remind me of what me and my team mate would be* , only we don’t love each other and we’d constantly be fighting.
The Horndogs - Do these two idiots ever think with their brains instead of their dicks? I mean, seriously. And I especially dislike the blond stooge, I don’t know why.
The DoubleDs - Urgh.. they’re as braindead as I thought they would be. If you want to move on to another pitstop, then move your ass out of there pronto. What the fuck are you doing still standing there for nothing? Idiots. I’m glad these two will be hooking up with the horndogs next week.
The married couple - Initialy they looked like a normal down to earth couple, but by the end of the episode, the guy totally come across as an asshole to me (kind of like Aras from Survivor : Exile Island). I do have to give him props for cruising his way through the motorbike assembly. That was awesome. But I have to take those props away cause he said “Daggommit”. Who curses like that??
The KenBarbie - *yawn* and the girl is quite a drama queen.
It was a good 2-hour premiere and I can’t wait for next week. I think I’m just going to skip the American Idol girls performance next week and download the videos/MP3s.
* oh yes, I am officially auditioning for the Asian edition of Amazing Race. I’m almost done with the application form, and hopefully we’ll get the video done by next week. It’s a really long shot, and I doubt they’ll even call us for an interview, but if we do make it on the show.. oh boy, the viewers are SOOOOOOO gonna hate me (and I bet I will be bleeped out a lot!). And in case you’re wondering, I’m applying with my so-called friend who keeps on bitching (and to quote her exact words) “Kau tu asthma, steroid drug addict etc Macamana nak masuk TAR? Aku takut kau muntah la.. fever la.. sakit jantung la..”. My response was simply “I’m a TV Whore.. do you think I even fucking care there’s a death clause somewhere in the agreement?” (it’s true). I’ll probably talk more on that later. But, we might not send in our applications after all if we’re not happy with the application video, cause once you’ve sent in one application, you can’t send in any more.. even for upcoming/new seasons. Oh well. Any reason for me to get out from this dead end job of mine.
