My birthdate is the same as Simon Cowell's. What's your bloody excuse, eh?

If you’re wondering what’s up with all the recent change of links and layouts and whatnots, it’s nothing to worry about. I’ve decided to take things into my own hands and host my own blog on my own server. Fricken’ blogger.com. Which kinda left me wondering how does blogger.com get away with such a sucky customer support. I’ve supported them since 2002 (I think I even signed up for Blogger*Pro back then), but unfortunately they left me in the lurch after countless e-mails and posts at the message board support.
I’ve decided to use WordPress since I already have a MySQL database and PHP installed on my server. Setting up was very easy and smooth (you should try their famous 5-minute installation setup. ssts) and to my surprise, they even had a function to import all my previous posts at blogger which made things a whole lot easier. I didn’t even know they had this function until after I finished the installation setup.
So far, everything looks great. Needless to say, I am too lazy to grab all the fancy schmancy WordPress themes off the net, so I’m just using this one to get me started for the time being. I can’t even be bothered to edit out the links at the moment. And there’s so many other functions and plugins I’ve yet to explore. So far, WordPress - 1, Blogger.com - Not so much. I mean, blogger.com is fine, it has many useful functions yada yada yada. But you have to pray that you don’t hit a problem. Once you get one, well.. you better hope some helpful user will be able to help you on that.
Oh, and on a side note, WordPress.com also provides free hosting if you don’t have your own host.
Okay.. updates, updates. I’m not even sure whether Survivor was shown on ntv7 last Friday, or even what episode. But I might start blogging about Survivor again, cause so far Survivor : Exile Island has been pretty good. So far, it’s definitely better than Guatemala. And Episode 5’s tribal council results were one of the best I’ve seen in yonks.
On the American Idol front, my bitch Brenna is out, so the VoteForTheWorst crew needs to find someone new this season - personally I don’tt hink there’d be a problem since Kellie is still in there. Heather is out - heather who? Sway - I have to tell you that I am a tad surprised that he got out so soon, seeing how the Hawaiians and the Pinoys had Jasmine’s and Camille’s back all the way into the Top 12. David - I’m just glad he’s out before I got sick and tired of his voice. I still kinda liked it as of last week. But oh well. So we’re down to the last bottom 4 that will be kicked off this week. My ultimate choice would be : Melissa (forgettable), Kellie (overpimped), Kevin (boring) and Will (looks like my ex housemate).
And of course, there was the Oscars. I didn’t catch it on Star World last night, cause I was too busy gorging down Nasi Kandar and scoops of Baskin Robbins at Taipan last night. Anyway, I have to say I’m kinda glad Brokeback Mountain didn’t win Best Picture. Personally I think it’s one of the most overrated movies this year. Okay, I must admit that the line “I wish I knew how to quit you” was one of the best lines ever heard in a movie, but overall, the movie was just plain to me. It was good, but not Oscar-worthy good. Nope.
My girl Reese Witherspoon won Best Actress. Woohoo! A giant step for Reese!! I must admit, I have a soft spot for her. I don’t watch much girly girl movies, but one of my deepest darkest guilty pleasure is the movie Legally Blonde. LOL. And, I also loved her in Sweet Home Alabama. Her performance in Walking The Line was pretty good, but as much as I like her I’m actually quite surprised she even got nominated for this. I thought Joaquin was superb and deserved the same recognition. I was actually rooting for Felicity Huffman for the win (even though I haven’t seen Transamerica) just because she’s had an amazing year so far, but Yay Reese!
I’ve heard many good things about Crash so I’ll definitely be on the look out for the movie. I guess I’m still a little peeved that Rosario Dawson didn’t even get a supporting actress nomination for her performance in Rent, cause she was superb. However, I’m glad Rachel Weisz won the supporting actress award for her performance in The Constant Gardener. I always liked her, and I wanted to watch the movie, but unfortunately, I think the movie only screened like 4 days in the cinema. Idiots. Oh well.
