American Idol 5 - Top 12

by @ 11:24 pm. Filed under American Idol

Paula summed the Top 12 contestants quite nicely - well-diversed (exactly how I felt about the Apprentice 2 contestants) - although what she said afterwards was utter nonsense, as usual. So, tonight we have a tribute to Stevie Wonder. Let’s get started.

Ace - Do I Do

Seriously, Ace is pure shite. He started of terribly and stayed that way till the end. Is he the pick for the VoteForTheWorst crew this year? It was bad, bad, bad. I miss Mario Vasquez. A paltry 2. Go home, pretty boy. That was a shitty way to start the show. You suck.

Kellie - Blame It On The Sun

She kinda looks like Aguilera with the new hairdo (that’s a compliment). I didn’t care much for her singing. It was boring. And I’m starting to wonder if people are actually laughing with her, or at her - for all her hillbillyness. A 3.

Elliot - Knocks Me Off My Feet

I am just so in love with his voice . It was not his best but it was still really good. I will be totally devastated if he’s out before the Final 5 at the very least. An 8.

Mandisa - Don’t Worry Bout A Thing

A good thing about her is that she’s not annoying or mouthy like Mantasia. I didn’t enjoy her performance this week, much to my own disappointment. It was like she went straight from singing to shrieking. I totally disagree with the judges caus I think it’s her worst performance to date. A disappointing 4.

Bucky - Superstitious

Can he be more of a hick? Is that even possible? That said, I didn’t expect to like his performance, but it was a really great song choice for him and he did quite well. A 5.5. But I’m still wondering which demographic he’s appealing to, and who really are these people who actually vote for him?

Melissa - Lately

She looked promising but I thought it was quite bad actually. I wanted to like her tonight, I really did. And Paula, her voice is pleasant but it is far from “soothing”. Lay off the crack pipes before you get on the show, please. I like her vice because it’s raspy and husky. Absolutely nothing soothing about it, you washed-up superstar. A 4.

Lisa - Signed Sealed Delivered

What is going on tonight? As much as I love her, that was really really bad. I was ultra disappointed, and that was easily her weakest performance yet. A 4.

Kevin - Part Time Lover

LMAO at the dance moves. It was not as good as Nikko’s performance, but again, he actually nailed all the notes. I actually liked it (maybe because I was expecting the worst from him). A 7. Although, I have to say thata he’s getting way too cocky and if he’s not careful, he will come of as a brat to most viewers. Self-confident is one thing, cockiness is another.

Katharine - Until You Come Back To Me

Oh wow. She is smokin hot. I thought her performance was excellent! And the camera absolutely loves her. She is quickly catching up with Elliot on my pick for the Idol title this year. I love her. A perfect 10.

Taylor - Living For The City

It was a typical (fun) Taylor performance. His spasms on stge are hilarious. A 7.5

Paris - All I Do

I hate this little pretentious bitch and I refuse to make any comments on her performance except shut up shut up shut up shut the motherfucking up. Her ’singing response’ to Semencrust’s questions at the end was just excruciatingly annoying. STMFU BIZNITCH!!!!

Chris - Higher Ground

I am officially bored of Chris now. I don’t think he’s shown us much versatility. He’s good at what he’s doing. He’s a superb performer, but I can’t say the same about him as a singer. Simon can just zip it with his comments about it being “the real world performance and that’s what this show is about”. That is so far from the truth. I’m very surprised how quickly he’s forgotten the ‘actual real world performer’ lost out to a country robot last year. I like rock, but Chris is not an exceptional rocker. A 5.

Top Three : Katharine, Elliot, Taylor
Bottom Three : Acehole, Kellie, 3-way tie between Lisa, Mandisa and Melisasasasasa.

Boot wish list : Paris

Going home : Bucky

Golden nugget of the night : “I have to talk about the Jessica Simpson hair style. That has got to go” ~ Simon Cowell to Bucky. And also “You’re like every dad who gets drunk at a wedding, only you can sing” ~ Simon Cowell to Taylor Spastic.
