Before I start, I would just like to thank The Foodster for writing a proper review on Williams. This is the one best little ‘hidden secret’ that people who enjoy great food MUST know. Aside from the Western dishes, their garlic cheese naan is simply to fucking die for. If you haven’t tried this place, please do. You will not regret it, I promise.
Okay, on to the show. Whoever thought that the Amazing Race Asia would ever get THIS good? Not me, for sure. Hell it ranks so high up in my list of any of the Amazing Race shows (including the original one). I loved, loved, loved last night’s show. The editing has improved ten thousand folds. The suspense, the actions.. if there’s anything I could gripe about, it would have to be the sadistic producers making the poor little girl freeze to death on the swing. Even Allen Kayu didn’t bother me that much (but only mainly because I have totally blocked him out of my brain recoginition). Another thing that’s worth mentioning is how nice everyone is on this show. Almost everyone pitched in some cash for the teams that lost their cash from the past non-elimination leg.
So they’re in New Zealand this time.. just a couple of hours away from their last stop in Sydney. The whole ‘finding the little girl on the swing’ was really evil and sneaky. I can’t believe the lengths that some of the teams went to when trying to figure out what the clue was. I really felt sorry for them. The Rugby or Rigging detour was alright interesting, but the Sky Ride was… WOW! That was freaking awesome, man! Did you guys see the see through flioor on the elevator when it was going up? That is so cool! And the whole jumping off from the tower. Everything looks so awesome.. no wonder this show is called the Amazing race. Sure, some tasks may be mind numblingly boring and lame (think digging the hole in Bali), but some of the tasks like this certainly makes up for it. I wanna be on this show goddammit.
A recap on each teams, in the order of their finishing place at the pitstop :
1. Andy and Laura
Well they certainly did a quick turnaround. I initially thought Laura’s injured knee would pose as a problem, but apparently it didn’t. Good on them for coming in first. I think they’re one of the more intriguing teams in the race. They’re sneaky and pretty cheeky too. Sometimes in a good light hearted way, but I think they are being edited as our villains this season. We all need a great villain to make this show more interesting IMO.
2. Andrew & Syeon
Way to go Team Malaysia for being the first one to get the swinging girl clue! Is it a statue, is it a monument, is it some sort of device from an S&M club? Hell no.. you guys managed to figure out what exactly it was. Those cheeky bastard producers! I was a little peeved with Andrew’s comments : “What would a Malaysian know about kicking a rugby ball?”. I didn’t get this scar on my brow for nothing, dude. But in any case, YOU did it. Personally I thought it was a no brainer that this challenge would be the more easier one, for me at least. Bravo!
3. Joe Jer & Zabrina
Yay! They were the second team to get the swinging girl clue. I was so giddy with excitement that both Malaysian teams were the first ones to get the clue. They persevered through the yatch challenge. I almost thought they were going to change the tasks halfway through and was slightly nervous for them. But they never lost their pace, and went back up into the Top Three again. You go, girls! I really have high hopes for them, so they better not let me down.
4. Sahran & Howard
Seriously, has there ever been a bigger drama queen in existence? Ever? I mean, you MUST know what you are getting into when you sign up for this race, so stop being such a fucking baby and threatening to quit at every challenge. MAN! Quit your incessant whining, annoying bitch. That said, I thought his comments were pretty funny though when the operator at the Sky Ride asked if he enjoyed the magnificent view, and Sahran’s response was “That’s okay. I’ll look at the postcards”. LOL
5. Francesca and Sandy
When this team fucks up, they fuck up so bad. Race-wise I think they’re pretty good. They’ve got the competitive edge, I’m beginning to warm up to them. I think they’re nicer than my initial suspicions. I hope they won’t do any more major stumblefucks. This team could go very far indeed.
6. Marsio & Mardy
Every time I watch these boys, everything seems to be in fucking slow motion. Their movements, their speech. It actually tires me out just watching them. In any case, they did pretty decent on this leg. I thought they would’ve been gone long by now, but they certainly proved me wrong. I don’t think they’re gonna last much longer in this race though. And I fucking swear, during the rugby challenge, when they kicked the ball.. the editors edited in a farting sound (something like what the TAR editors use for their Banjo Twang of Shame sound when someone makes a major snafu on their tasks). Really! I don’t think it was my imagination. I thought that was kinda hilarious.
7. Melody & Sharon
Lady Luck was definitely not on their side. I think we are seeing more and more of them. Aside from the swinging girl boo-boo, they did pretty well for the rest of the course.
8. Idiot fuckers
What makes this episode so goddamn high in my ratings are because these two arrogant pricks are finally eliminated from the game. “Just like that?”. Just.like.that. (for a brief nano-second I was totally in love with Allen Kayu for saying that to their faces). Man, they were pissed as hell.. and some more want to cakap besar claiming that they are the biggest threats in the game. Yeah right. I’ll hand it to them for quickly finishing most of their tasks, but they SUCK SO BAD at finding directions. And this is not just the first incident. I loved it when Melody & Sharon told them that they were in trouble for getting a ride in a passenger car, and they went like “who told you we can’t?” and the girls were like “it’s in the rules, dude” (I wished they put on their whatevia pose while saying that.”

And as if you needed more proof that these two are gallavanting idiots, their response was “Okay, don’t tell on us, alright?”. Hey dipshits, you are on fucking camera. Morons. In any case, the one hour penalty at the end was absolutely delicious. Good riddance.
Next week’s previews looks awesome. The show is getting more and more interesting as we speak. And that’s such a good thing since The Amazing Race 10’s finale is only a few days away. Go BAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday’s race was redeeming after the lame episode in Bali. Although Andrew & Syeon looks like they’re more suited for parlor games than cross-country racing, the Auckland stint gave me some hope. They were the only ones to have the good sense to dive behind the van after getting the clue from the girl on the swing. Look alive man, you’re not exactly looking for a can of beans in a supermarket.
Good riddance to the Bollywooders. That’s what happens when you brush aside the fine print. But they should be delighted now that they can go back to combing their hair in the mirror.
I still think the producers made a mistake in making the challenges easier than AR 8,9,10 and making the prize money a lot smaller. Asians are just as capable to play the big game methinks.

Yes, it’s by far the best episode for AR Asia. I’m beginning to warm up to the contestants. But, I’m looking forward when the 2 bozos from Indonesia get eliminated. Rooting for Malaysia and Singapore. AR10 finale’s next week - 3 unappealing teams.

Unappealing? Whore please.. Nobody be talking about us Bama like that ~ Karlyn
LOL Just kidding.
My take on the 3 teams that are still left in the race.. Tyler & James - i still don’t see them as any different from all of the alpha male teams that we have from previous seasons. Rob & Kimberly - reminds me of Hellboy Adam and clueless, just lucky enough to get where they are right now. Bama - possibly one of the weakest teams to be on the show, but they’re great with directions. I guess I’m rooting for Bama to win cause I would love to see sll the past winners stereotypes being broken (all female, unfit, sluggish and rude)

Yeap, a great episode! Me like it! Can’t help for rooting of your homies, rite?

They in it to win it! Good job! Very competitive! Loving the episode too, cos those stupid Indians got
eliminated. Yay big time! What a fucking arrogant bastards! They think they are the best team!
Heres a news flash, the one time that you got first place is because of the Fast Forward!
Other than that, you are at the back of the pack! So fuck off from my TV next week! Im just
freaking happy! Next week seems like an interesting episode too. Wow, another height jumping task.
Dont they love to pick of Sahran. You poor cry baby!
TAR10.. not really rooting for any teams. Maybe models or BAMA!!
