Amazing Race Asia - Episode 7

by @ 11:26 pm. Filed under Amazing Race

I hate airport equalizers.. takde thrill langsung. What was the point of getting a 96-minute delay at the pitstart (God, please never ever use that term again.. it sounds dirty) if you’re all going to be limited to getting on a single pre-determined flight? Seriously now, if that was the case, I probably would’ve driven at 200 mph if I ever get into the race. Worst.penalty.ever. So the teams flew from Auckland to Singapore.. (and to quote Sandy) “just to wash a car”. Lamest.stop.ever. Yeah you can probably tell I didn’t really enjoy this episode, can’t you?

So they arrive in Singapore, then BAM! Blatant shameless product placements by Ford and BP (or was it Exxon? See, I don’t really give a flying fuck.. so basically those endorsements have actually failed their purpose). Wash a car.. then head down to the Fountain of Wealth at Suntec City (Man that brings up a lot of pathetic memories don’t it, Kelly? Sad.).. then off they go to Thailand. If that’s not the worst leg in a single country ever, I don’t know what is. At least pergi la go some historical site ke.. some touristy site ke.. ni pegi basuh kete.. wtf? Running out of ideas izzit? Geez!

At least the Singapore stint gave the viewers a little suspense moment at the airport with Joe Jer and Zabrina almost missing the flight. I actually feel compelled to start a Helpful Singaporean Air Asia Staff Appreciation thread over at Sucks, but I haven’t quite lost it yet. Bla bla bla.. they get to Bangkok. I just realised that Asking For Directions in Bangkok is equal to Driving In KL. Both will definitely get you to your wits end. The Thailand challenges seemed pretty okay.. but it just feels like they are rehashing way too many challenges (finding the clues among the bells, finding the correct cluebox etc etc). Nothing new, nothing for you to write home about. Meh.In order of their arrival at the pitstop :

1. Andy & Laura

Getting pretty sick of them now. Unlucky unlucky unlucky. Unlucky my ass. I’m still partly bitter with the fact that they got away really easy with the speeding penalty from the last episode. THEY SHOULD’VE BEEN PENALIZED IN THE LAST LEG. What the cunting stupid shit of a rule is that? Imposing a time penalty on the next armpitstart? But whatever. It’s not fair to judge them because of the rules.. but tough shit. I’m not even quite sure when I started to dislike them, cause I was actually rooting for them in the beginning. One thing I like about them (in this episode) was how they keep saying Thank You to the locals for helping them out. You don’t get to see that a lot on TAR.

2. Andrew & Syeon

Once again, they proved that they are one of the frontrunners ni this race. The entire I Wanna Pee bit with Syeon was funny, and she scores big points with me for having the guts to just do it on the side of the street. And bravo to Andrew for not giving her a hard time with it.

3. Sahran & Howard

Why are they still in this race?

4. Sandy & Francesca

Again, Sandy’s tanktop bothers me.

5. Mardy & Marsio

“We’re broke because he eats too much”. Gee.. and you’re going to tell me the sun rises in the east next?

6. Joe Jer & Zabrina

I love the fact that they managed to get on the same plane to Bangkok from Singapore. I love the fact that they actually were the first team in Bangkok to get their clue. I love the fact that they helped out the other Malaysian team. And I especially love the fact that this was a predetermined non-elimination leg. They scrwed up badly finding directions to get to the tuk-tuk and that was their downfall this week. I don’t know if the other teams will help them out next week by helping them out with some cash, cause there’s only 6 teams left and the competition will be more fierce. We’ll see.

And might I add the editing still sucks major donkey’s ass. For two consecutive weeks, there was no suspense whatsoever in figuring out which team would arrive last at the pitstop. *shakes head*

i love jor jor and zabrina also.. support them.. i always wanna cry when they ‘almost’ cant get the flight ticket, becoz that was the last flight to bangkok..

1 thing about marsio and mardi in this episode, they are smart to draw out a pig when asking for the ‘pig monument’ direction, other teams were keep asking, which is pretty hard for them to get a direction as those thai dun understand english.

i second u, i dun like andy and laura also. Haha
