So the entire episode was shot in Thailand.. again. Not that I’m complaining, it just makes me wonder if they are ever going out of the South East Asia/Australasia region for this show. I kind of like the fact that they showed two different parts of Thailand - the cultural side from the last episode, and the natural beauty of the country.
First of all, the whole fiasco of getting from Bangkok to Krabi was highly entertaining. Confusing, but entertaining, nonetheless. Three of them took the easy 11 hour express bus ride, while the other three was more adventurous and took 5 different public buses and a total of .. what 17 hours? Adventurous, but highly risky and foolish if you ask me.In any case, the 6 hours delay didn’t really matter in the end since there was a retarded opening times equalizer waiting for them at Krabi. I really really hate this kind of equalizers, but good for those stuck in this group I guess.
A Fast Forward was available and I was initially surprised no one wanted to do it. The detour was between Smash (smashing coconuts to find one with red ink inside) and Grab (grabbing underwater clues from the buoys). The Smash detour sounded like a logical choice, but seeing that they were given a miniature hammer instead of a parang to smash the nuts, it was obviously the wrong choice. The Grab detour was clearly the better choice as the waters themselves were not that deep.. and they could’ve gone through all the buoys faster than go through the 75 coconuts.
The roadblock was climbing a really high rock wall. That looked extremely daunting, and I personally don’t know if I could’ve done it. No hang on… I’m not going to go beneath Sahran’s level (that pathetic bitch). But kudos to everyone who did the climb. Another clue leading them to the pitstop, and the whiny bitch got eliminated. All is well with the world again, thank fuck.
In the order of their arrival at the pitstop :
1. Marsio & Mardy
Seriously, wtf? They must be doing something right to be the first team.. again. Sure it’s because of the Fast Forward, but so what? They took the chance and it paid off. I’m still bewildered as to why the rest of the teams were very laidback and hesitant to rush for the Fast Forward. That said, if this team goes out next, it will the best Final Four ever. I’m possibly no different from these two (big, overweight.. and balding some more) but for fucks sake, they used up all their money… for new backpacks and most probably for FOOD. Aiyoo.. “Marsio, stop eating.. get the tickets first”. LMAO. *sigh* They are just playing the tiring cliche of big fat lazy men who does nothing but eat and eat and eat.. again and again. I don’t know if I should be angry at them or sad for them. Really. And bitch please, you do not need one person to balance the kayak, and the other to paddle. Come on, who are you kidding. That’s just laziness speaking and I know this cause I’ve done kayakking in open waters and I’m as big as they are.
2. Andy & Laura
Yeah.. still not liking them, but they’ve proven to be good racers so far. They’ve been in the Top 2 for the past .. what 3 or 4 legs? Gotta hand it to them. They got lucky with the boatmen at the pitstop, but they also made good decisions at the detour.
3. Sandy & Francesca
Well.. they’re just.. there, ya know. Nothing much to be said of what we don’t already know about them. These guys are definitely a shoe-in for the final three.
4. Andrew & Syeon
They are proving to become a much bigger threat now that the race is dwindling down in the number of racers. They were comfortably leading the pack at the detour and roadblock, but unfortunately they got screwed in the end by an incompetent boat driver. Go Team Malaysia!
5. Joe Jer & Zabrina
I was so nervous for them at the detour. They got really lucky after switching from the coconuts to the buoy. I didn’t think the girls would’ve faired so well with the rock climbing roadblock but Zabrina pulled it through. You go girl! <3 <3 <3 They have a lot ahead of them, being the only all-female team left in the race, but I don't think they'll have any problems to outlast at least one other team still in the race.
6. Sahran & Howard
Watching Sahran spread his ass cheek to the camera during the rock climb was painful to watch, but it paid off with their elimination. I kept telling myself that they were going to take the 4-hour penalty and avoid the rock climbing but they proved me wrong. But still, does the bitch cry over everything? I mean, good for you that you actually performed the climb, but do you have to pout and cry after the bloody thing was already over? GOD! Very da memalukan nak mampos. Worst team to be on an Amazing Race show ever, and I’m glad their asses are finally off the show.

Plus Marsio & Mardy ate everything they had and Andrew and Syeon had to give them $$

LOL, I hate that Sahran bitch too. No point showing your biceps if you’re a big ass pussy.
I’m still relieved my favourite team, Zabrina&Joe Jer are still in the race. I like them better than the other crappy ‘Malaysian’ team.

it took a few episodes but i am glad howard and sahran are finally out of the race.
i am guessing the next leg should be a NEL. yes, andy & laura and sandy & francesca
should make the final three. the question is which team will join them. andrew & syeon
or joe jer & zabrina?

well i guess asia is a good venue for the race.i liked the hurdles they faced when they were made to race in india and they had to do all awful stuff to reach their destinations.
nice blog and do try out keepv.com.

If there was one thing I respected of Sahran & Howard, it was the incredible patience of Howard in handling Sahran. I would have clobbered that pussy in episode 1 when he cried roping down at Berjaya Times Sq. Still, you need ppl like him & the M&Ms to make the show memorable, no? At least the emotions were genuine, not plasticky like the two Phillipino babes. They get a thimbs up from me.
Andrew & Syeon were like wet blankets at the finish line. Honestly, this is the 2nd rude anticlimax (first one at NZ). I swear Andrew wanted to burst out in cheer at the finish line but Syeon’s sulking face stopped him. What a spoilsport. Hats off to Andrew for being the gentleman that he is, always backing his partner. It was a pleasant surprise to see him without a shirt on. Mmm, not bad lah.
I’m betting the next one out will be Zabrina/JJ or Sandy/Francesca altho I much rather it be Andy/Laura.

Suanie : Exactly. They must be the first TAR team in history to lose money on their own account. Unacceptable.
Din : Hahaha.. I agree. And JJ&Z are still my favourites too. I wouldn’t call the other team crappy though.. they’re more bleh and kinda boring which makes it a little harder to root for them.
Snooki : Ah yes.. we still have a couple of NELs to go, no? I’m really hoping JJ&Z will make it to the final three though.
Joe : Thanks and yeah.. I would settle if they just go somewhere outside of SE Asia.. India, China, Japan, Turkey.. that would be cool too. I mean, it’s The Amazing Race.. not the Amazing Explorace Ripoff. Hehe. Still having problems accessing some sites but will be sure to check out yours.
Abusted : I have to agree with you. They were memorable characters (as was the perky bitches from earlier). I don’t think we’ve ever has such characters on a show like this (Team Sri Lanka and Team Indonesia). And yes, even though he seems boring on TV, Andrew’s gained a couple of points with me personally, because he WAS being gentlemen-ly not only in this episode, but also in the last (where Syeon wanted to “go to the toilet! I wanna go to the toilet!”). And speaking of shirtless, was that the first time we’ve seen a shirtless dude on this show? I believe it was. Shows how different the show is compared to the actual TAR, where models/actors (or affectionately known as mactors) have their shirts off within the 5 minutes of the episode.

i hope they will be going JAPAN or KOREA, but i guess the expenses going those places are high?
love to see when ‘chicken talking to duck’, none of them understanding each other. Hehe
JJ and Zab will have all my support.. love their spirit, but not tough enough.
andrew and syeon, they will make it to top 3.. love to see them race. good racer..
sandy and fran, Oh please… muscular does not means tough.. see the way sandy chop the coconut thingie, makes me laugh real hard.
dun like laura and andy
the M&M going to get eliminated soon! hahaha :p
December 29th, 2006 at 10:21 am
btw i heart joe jer and zabrina!
December 29th, 2006 at 4:11 pm
I’m just so freaking annoyed everytime Sandy and Francesca successful with their detour/roadblocks, that Sandy do this “woooo” cheer… I don’t know I just found it annoying.. and also Francesca jumping and juggle her legs.. just look so fake!
As much as I love English accent, Andy & Laura’s wasn’t pleasant! Yeh… Yeh.. Yeh… Arghh
I know Im just a bitter guy! LOL
December 29th, 2006 at 10:00 pm
sahran did mention he suffers from a traumatic experience when he was a kid (stuck up a coconut tree) so i guess his acrophobia is somehow justified. net access is so slow due to the recent world wide wait as the star calls it, otherwise i would have posted my take on the episode.
December 30th, 2006 at 5:09 am
Timun : yeah it would be awesome if both Malaysian Teams gets in the final leg of the race. That would so rock.
(and did I tell you you are my new cussing hero?)
Cely : Yeah the expenses in Japan would be astronomical, but I loved the Japan leg that they did in TAR9 (with the hippies). Korea might be a cheaper alternative, and I’m sure it would be as interesting. And I agree, that JJ & Zab might look physically ‘weak’ but hopefully they’ll have the endurance to pull it through.
Suanie : Actually kan.. I think Joe Jer and Zabrian are the only team that no one (casual viewers) dislike! (we have people disliking every other team, but not them) Even on the Sucks forum, most of the posters there seem to support JJ&Z. So good for them!
Romeo : I get what you mean about Sandy & Francesca LOL And I actually only notice that Andy said “You’re pushing it (the egg cart) in my arse” from this week’s recap. That was funny. Don’t worry about being bitter. Bitter viewers make the most interesting comments, don’t you think?
Y : Hey.. what are defending that guy for? *glare* LOL but seriously, he redeemed himself (just a tad) by not pulling out of the final roadblock. And Abustard is correct, Howard deserves a frickin medal for being so patient with his partner (but then again, Howard was the one who actually couldn’t perform the diving roadblock). I think net access is slowly being restored, so you better get back to updating your blog. You have been missed!

has it? it’s still so slow here. oh wait, i’m on freakin tmnet! duhhh…
maybe i’ll update later.
January 2nd, 2007 at 8:20 pm
my dream final three would be: m&m, joejer/zabrina, & …snore…look ma, my left toenail
just grew 0.000027 milimetres!….snore…
let’s see:
1. andy & what’s-her-name. i am undecided on this team. on one hand they seem pleasant but edited
as villains, but on the other hand they have a patronizing mat saleh vibe. but one thing’s for sure:
they’d be eliminated & forgotten if they’re on TAR instead of ARA
2. andrew & syeon. i know why i don’t like this team. they’re like one of those random kiasu kids
from school who study study study and only stop for loo breaks. of course, none of which you’ll
remember a year after graduation. especially on school reunions, even with names on their lapels.
3. sandy & francesca. tweedledull & tweedleduller.
ok i have to pick one. hmm. oh well. i’ll just close my eyes & randomly pick…andy & what’s her name.
January 3rd, 2007 at 7:59 am
Freako : LOL It’s Laura. Lau-ra. LOL. In a way, I’m kinda glad Andy’s in the show, we definitely need at least one villain in a show like this, and he’s okay lah.. fits the bill. Andrew & Syeon.. actually, one of my friend told me that he saw Syeon in KLCC.. and I’m like.. I don’t think I’ll recognize her even if she was sitting in front of me.. so I guess I kinda get your point
