I’m torn as to how I feel about this latest episode. I’m still reeling over the loss of Henry and Bernie from the last episode. I have to say that despite them ending up fifth, I feel that they really are one of the most competent teams to ever be on the race, so… bravo guys! You made us proud, and if McKay keeps casting mactors like these to represent Malaysia, then I will have absolutely zero qualms about it. Okay, now back to the show.
Teams left from Cochin and head to Pune (which kinda sounds like Punai), about 120 kilometers east of Bombay. All teams get on the same plane to Bombay. Once in Bombay, Ida/Tania was the only team who took a chance by NOT taking a pre-paid taxi for the 3 hour long drive to Pune. This proved to be an advantage to them since it took them into the lead. Once in Pune, teams had to play cricket at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium.
On one hand, I thought it was kind of a good way to incorporate one of India’s most beloved sports into the race. The execution, however, was kind of retarded. So the teams didn’t complete the challenge, so they get a 10 minute penalty, so what? At least this was an improvement over the rugby challenge thingy in one of the earlier episodes. The next clue tells them to use the MAPS application on the Nokia thingymagic and guide the rickshaw driver to their next clue. Geoff and Tisha had a tough time with this one, where they actually went around in circles. Note to future racers : get yourself a Nokia phone and familiarize yourself with it. Seriously.
Next is a roadblock where they had to search among 50 men in a park somewhere and find the one wearing the correct bheta. Mmm what? All the time I was watching this segment, all I could think of was how much these people are getting paid to wander around aimlessly under the hot sun and let strangers hold your head at their will. Unlike the spot-the-kiwi-tattoo challenge in TAR13, this one actually left me scratching my head.
Next, is the obligatory head to the nearest Sony Showroom, for the uninspired Sony HD camcorder challenge. This time they needed to convince someone to tell a joke while they record the whole thing on the camcorder. If that wasn’t lame enough, they even got six incredibly dense ‘judges’ to determine if the jokes are funny or not. For what it’s worth, the joke told by the old man (about Sadarjhi’s playing chess) was definitely snicker-worthy. I bet these idjits would probably pop a vein in their brains if they accidentally watch an episode of Frasier. And come on, the pig eating shit joke was hilarious! What is wrong with these people? Those Sony employees are serious dumbasses (Yes. I hope at least one of you fuckers are reading this).
After the lame Sony challenge, a detour. Teams had to either (1) Push - load 75 clay pots and deliver at least 70 unbroken through the streets on a push cart, or (2) Crush - crush sugar cane sticks and sell at least 40 cups to strangers. Ida/Tania did Push, while the rest did Crush. Ida/Tania and Sam/Vince were neck and neck doing this detour. There was a U-Turn after the detour. If a team is U-Turned, they had to complete the other detour that they didn’t do.
Sam/Vince finished first and the soft spoken one contemplated on U-Turning Ida/Tania. THE FUCKING NERVE! Anyway, at this point in the race, why wouldn’t you U-Turn the biggest physical threat (Geoff/Tisha) ? Anyway, they decided not to U-Turn anyway. Ida/Tania were next. They wanted to U-Turn Geoff/Tisha, but unfortunately they misplaced their own picture, so they couldn’t do it. Gaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh I was so frustrated. Geoff/Tisha were next and they U-turned AD/Fuzz who were trailing not far behind. Again, much as I don’t like Geoff/Tisha, that was a good move IMO. Even though if this leg turned out to be a Non Elimination Leg, it would still put the last team at a distinct disadvantage. Poor AD/Fuzz had to complete the clay pots challenge after getting U-Turned. And after that, the pitstop. In the order of the arrival at the pitstop :
Major rant alert : WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT? PLACING A U-TURN IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE FUCKING PITSTOP? That practically gave ZERO chance of the unfortunate team of ever catching up. That fucking blows, man.
Product placements and lame challenges aside, I still think this leg had it’s exciting moments, probably due to how close the teams all were (before the U-Turn). Here’s hoping we’ll get a non-too sucky Final Three teams next week! Go Ida/Tania! Go AD/Fuzz!

i haven’t watched this eppy yet, but reading about the sony challenge, i made up my mind. funny how a lame-shit task regarding a sony product can turn someone off a franchise forever, no? mckay should wax his own balls & eat his own pubes…while being shot with a sony HD camcorder. how’s that for a future TARA task.

I just want Geoff/Tisha OUT, because like you said, if they make the final 3, we have a problem.

The U-turn is placed that way for drama. Watch as they make heroes out of AD and Fuzzie for, er, getting U-turned in the next episode.
I’m really tired of Geoff and Tisha announcing that they are the underdogs because the other teams are against them. After watching how obnoxious Geoff is in this episode, I don’t blame some teams for disliking him. That man is terrible to both Tisha and the locals he met. I bet the staff at his favorite restaurants spit into his coffee.
I think Sam and Vince have some kind of horrible luck that they will inflict on any team that even for a while work with them. Witness Henry and Bernie and now Geoff and Tisha.
Ida and Tania are still the best. Go, ladies!
AD and Fuzzy, well, they’re hanging in there, which is surprising given how physical (and Nokia/Caltex-heavy) this entire horribly race has been so far. Go, ladies!

PS: the joke task is really lame, especially how awkward most of the locals are before a camera. The whole thing is so painful to watch. PLUS this is something the team has no control over, so watch as Sam and Vince get lucky while AD and Fuzzy aren’t. Isn’t Sam creepy as well when he does his confessional about how he is good at sales?

I’m starting to dislike the HK team…
The prepaid taxi idea here is a bad idea, seeing that the drivers don’t even know where they’re going. Good thing Ida and Tania had that lead for a while.
But yeah, the product placement opportunities in this leg is cringeworthy - both Nokia AND Sony in the same episode.
Geoff and Tisha underdogs? My a** lah, kepala hotak diorang…they should’ve gotten the U-Turn.
I don’t mind if AD/Fuzzie are in the Final 3, provided the Race doesn’t end in Singapore AGAIN.

My all time personal fav, Ida & Tania..but why oh why did they forgot to bring their pics
Ad-Fuzzie-the best…

Phillipines team-double bleargh

Thank goodness Ad & Fuzzie weren’t eliminated last night.
Please don’t let Geoff & Tisha win. It’s a pain in the ass to see them still on TARA3 every week. Ida & Tanya please don’t be so nice to them!

freako : someone mentioned at Sucks that McKay said this was his most favourite episode in the series. Figures.
Gallivanter : I know. And you’d think the HK boys would’ve been smart enough to not want them in the F3.. but noooo….
MrsG : I think more drama would be created if the U-turn was not so close to the pitstop. I think Geoff/Tisha is confused between “underdogs” and “hated”. It’s a fine line. Not. Don’t get me started on Sam. He’s way to articulate in formulating his sentences, it’s almost unnatural. *shudder*
Synical : I don’t think finale will be in Sg again. Although if you want to know who the winners are, watch out where they’re holding the finale viewing party. This has been proven true for TARA1 and TARA2. It’s unlikely The Powers That Be will change their modus operandi this time around. Unsubtle fucks.
Freyia : I don’t know if they forgot to bring their pics. Most likely they lost the picture, which threw away their chances of using yield/u-turn etc. I think this happened to one of the teams in TAR. Pretty stupid ruling, if you ask me.
hcfoo : I’m glad that at least Ida/Tania had the intention to u-turn the correct team. Such bad luck.

Geoff is an annoying cunt who deserves to be shot. McKay is a stupid retard and should be drowned. A U-turn before a pitstop? WTF!?
Here’s how I see the rest of the season panning out (unfortunately):
Next leg:
)
1) Geoff/Tisha
2) Sam/Vince
3) Ida/Tania
4) AD/Fuzzie (goodbye ladies
Finale:
1) Sam/Vince (I don’t like the creepy one with the gay voice so BOOO!)
2) Geoff/Tisha (such shit dolts!)
3) Ida/Tania (LOVELOVELOVE!)

How I wish if Geoff/Tshia got U-Turn. They’d be so pissed and blame it on the world. The AXN Forum Pinoy Community will curse like nobody business at Ida/Tania. Oh how I wish I can just say it’s karma. Serve you right for Yielded Henry and Bernie! Arghhh.. I’d so love to piss all the Pinoy there!
By the way, Tania is pregnant! =) “Kid, Your mommy Rocks!!”

dont worry la ida/tania will win tara3
hehe…

Lol, I basically skipped the Sony HD joke part ‘coz I knew it would hurt.
Too bad for Ida and Tania, I was rooting for them to get in first place! I liked the HK boys in earlier episodes since they seemed so weak and were able to rise to the top, but now they’re just boring. I never get tired of Ida and Tania.
And I must agree that, yes, Geoff is a maaajor asshole; but I like Tish. She should just leave him and come kick it with me
As for AD and Fuzzie, I felt so damned bad seeing them have to do the pottery thing, but I knew that the episode would be a NEL. Good move by Geoff and Tish though.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Geoff and Tish reach the finals… but if they do, I do wish that they end up in last place. Better yet… last place, the day after!
In the finals, I hope Geoff once again screws up while driving and gets hopelessly lost. It would then be fun seeing him aimlessly wandering the streets blowing on his annoying whistle, while the other teams are running to the final pitstop.
