A Novel In Progress
50,000 words , 30 days , 1 Survivor. Okay, okay.. I need to stop obsessing about Survivor once in a while. Came across the NaNoWriMo article from Blogger and thought "Wow, another sadistic 'game' that I can put myself through. How fun!". So here I am. It really is kind of exciting knowing that at the end of 30 days, there will be no editors ragging on my ass for the 50,000 words article (Elaine better not come across this webpage anytime soon). But seriously, it is a rather interesting concept. I loved it how the put it as "the magic of deadlines", because without any deadlines, nothing would get done (in my case anyway). Even so, how far do I think I will get by the end of November? Personally, I think I might come up somewhere between 25,000 - 30,000 words. This is my first attempt so I'm not going to put such high expectations on this and say I'm going to complete this challenge (by typing 50,000 words of crap). I'll try my best but if I don't make it, there's always next year.
So I present to you : Daud In Distress. No, that's not a typo ;) and you can find the synopsis up there underneath the title. Wish me luck!
Edited to add : It's Sunday night, October 31st 2004, 10:50 pm .. an hour and ten minutes to go before NaNoWriMo 2004 officially starts and I am already off to a bad start. My editor has chased me for an article for our bumper December issue and I have yet to finish it. Looks like Daud will have to wait till the December article is over. Procrastination = best thing since sliced bread. Someone shoot me now

Cool - nice whatsamacallit - "concept" is close but not the word that I'm looking for. Nope, it's not just coming, so I'll stick with nice concept.
good luck!
